In a world full of monsters and superheroes, one stands out — Saitama. He may not look it but he is incredibly powerful. He can destroy pretty much any demon. And to think his superhero career started for “fun.” If you want a good chuckle, read this book. Also Genos is so funny. You need to read it for the art and comedy.

What I liked

  • I love all the jokes and Genos is so clueless in the best way.
  • The art by Yusuke Murata is amazing compared to the webcomic style — every panel looks epic even when the joke is dumb.
  • Saitama being bored because nothing is a challenge is a great twist on the usual shonen thing.

What I didn’t like

  • I do not really like how it does not mix up the story and the format much in this volume. It is kind of kill monster after monster.
  • 12+ — mild offensive language and realistic violence. Not too bad though, but still worth checking with a parent.

Verdict

5 paws on story and comedy. Read it. Then tell me in the comments — is Sonic a boy or a girl? I still cannot tell.
