Ninja Kid: From Nerd to Ninja
RecommendedMeet Nelson — geek, misfit, uncool, and totally awkward. But that all changes when he wakes up on his tenth birthday and he is a ninja. How will he ever save the world when he cannot even get his undies on the right way? And is his dad maybe still out there? He is going to have to face his worst fear — spiders, just huge giant spiders. Will he and Kenny (his cousin) get through it together? Tell me in the comments below if you think he is going to get killed.
What I liked
- I loved how Nelson, the biggest nerd ever, is actually a ninja.
- Kenny is so skinny even though he eats so much — that running joke never gets old.
- The gadgets are weird but that is kind of the point. It is never boring.
What I didn’t like
- I do not like how it is just so weird with the gadgets and stuff sometimes. Also Rich Guy is such a jerk.
- Some of the presentation feels a bit messy compared to proper graphic novels — still fine for a funny book though.
Verdict
5 paws on story and thrills. Funny, fast, and good if you like underdog heroes who should not be heroes but somehow are. Good from about 8+.
